My journey has been a long and winding road, and is no where near complete. The pursuit of wellness never ends. It takes being committed every day, and while we have our ups and downs, we never let go... even if we slide backwards occasionally. We always get back up in the saddle and keep moving forward, wellness is not a destination... it is a journey.
I have come to realize that I will never be the kind of girl that can eat unlimited carbs and not gain weight. Carbs and I do not get along. While I make sure to have the needed amount of carbs and sugar for optimal brain function, they are not something that I can overindulge in without repercussions.
I began my personal wellness journey when I had to take a cold hard look at my photos on Facebook. I couldn't get mad at everyone who posted event photos online, and I didn't want to always stay home. I had to face the fact that I didn't like what I saw.
Needless to say, I had to do something. It has taken many years and lots of life changes, attitude adjustments and dealing with my deeper issues that lead to where I am today. While what we eat and how much we move is important, sometimes there is more to work through to be able to be successful. This is why I decided to return to school and get my degree in Health Education with a focus on Health Promotion. I am not at the finish line, but I would like to help other's find the path back to wellness. Bliss Health and Wellness is my way to help you get started on your journey.
